Gang Awareness Education and Intervention Program

Gang Awareness Education and Intervention Program – Was formally added to our ministry programs in January 2007. This intensive training equips churches, youth organizations, schools and /or volunteers with a knowledgeable background and awareness of the characteristics, habits, behaviors, and customs of the known gangs in America today.

These workshops are to:

a)      Educate the community about pressures teens encounter today;

b)      Discourage teens and youth from gang involvement;

c)      Help teens resist peer pressure and make good decisions;

d)      Encourage teens to abstain from unsafe and unproductive lifestyles that may result in imprisonment

“In the U.S. today, there are conservatively 750,000 gang members, realistically 850,000.  That’s equivalent to the sixth largest army in the world and they’re living within our borders.”

Gangs are not just about violence – it’s about losing a young person who did not choose the right path.  And we are not talking about kids 18, 19 or 20 years old.  Kids as young as second grade are being recruited.  A key indication of growing gang violence is graffiti.

Education, Education, Education!

We can’t stop gang growth if we deny they exist, don’t know the signs,

and don’t do anything to stop them!

One way FCR Ministries serves our community is by educating groups through Gang Awareness Education presentations about gangs present in our area, signs of kids who are at-risk and who may be involved and what we can do to make our community a safer place to live.
