Daily Devotional – I’m Normal.™ I AM Ministries
“To promote Godly living in a culture committed to destroying it”

On December 6, 2004, I’m Normal. I AM Ministries issued the first Daily Devotional. Ten years later, we have cause to celebrate what God has done and He deserves all glory, honor, and praise!
God, and He alone, has given me the strength and insights necessary to issue a devotional each day. Some days have been more daunting than others, with my biggest challenges coming during periods of travel where uncertain internet connections, time zone changes, airline schedules, meetings and other items disrupt my normal routine. He has been more than faithful in making things happen for the ministry.
In the beginning, the concept was to create God-centered devotionals to assist Christians in their daily walk with the LORD and this has played out over time. Readers sometimes let me know if a message is meaningful to their lives, which is a great blessing. I receive the biggest blessing by being in the Word each day.
This fall, God blessed my wife and me with a trip to the Holy Land of Israel. Those of you who have been blessed similarly know how life-changing this is. Walking in the steps of Jesus and others in the Bible was a powerful experience. Seeing the geography and geology, experiencing climate, food, culture, history, and other aspects puts the Biblical stories into a new context. I now read the Bible knowing what many of the places look like. My recommendation: If you only make one more trip in your life, you should go to Israel. I know this will not be possible for everyone; our experience emphasized how much closer to God you become when you see and experience His Promised Land. His rebirthing of Israel after almost 2,000 years is a living miracle.
The Israel trip had a profound effect on the ministry. It prompted action I had contemplated, desired, and prayed about for some time – reformatting the I’m Normal website. The Holy Spirit had told me repeatedly to wait. Almost immediately upon our return, He gave me the green light. The experience allowed using photographs of our trip as part of the website. In addition, the website developer also happened to be in a lull between major projects and created the site quickly, with delays coming from my end. Had I jumped the gun, and numerous times I was tempted, I would not have enjoyed the blessing God had in mind for this transition.
God is great. God is good. I don’t know how many years God has scheduled for me on Earth, but I have no plans to stop issuing devotionals. I appreciate the support you give me and want you to know what a blessing you are to me. I ask God’s blessing on each of you and your loved ones as you seek Him first, and will continue to lift up each of you in my daily prayers. May peace be with you all.
In His love and service,
A servant of Jesus Christ
